Kashmir Bibliography

This bibliography is provided for general use.   Please feel free to draw on it freely but ideally keep it in its entirety as the aim is to indicate all available literature on Kashmir.

If you are looking for an introduction to Kashmir, you might want to start with the following suggested reading list:

The bibliography, divided into books and articles, is organised in alphabetic order by author, starting with anonymous / non-authored publications before moving from A to Z.  Please click on the section required below.

This section has been created for some of the information that comes in.  I'm afraid that time for updating the bibliography is rare, so it is worth looking here as well.

The most comprehensive library collections on Kashmir are contained at the University of Toronto, Canada; the British Library in London; and the private collection of Professor Alastair Lamb.  The Iqbal library, Srinagar, is reasonable and the Kurshid Memorial Library, Muzaffarabad is surprisingly well-stocked.   Security think-tanks in Delhi and Islamabad also have good resources.  There are some other private collections in the UK and the US.  Again please e-mail for further details: most allow access for academic use on request.

This site is not funded by any party to the Kashmir conflict, nor does it solicit such funds.
